Description

Riverside Christian School is seeking a caring, organized, and passionate Seventh-day Adventist educator to join our elementary team as a full-time Kindergarten/1st Grade Classroom Teacher.

Nestled on a beautiful 12-acre campus surrounded by woods and a river, our school offers a peaceful, inspiring environment for both students and teachers. 

We are seeking a teacher who models spiritual depth and academic strength while fostering a classroom culture built on trust, respect, kindness, and enthusiasm for lifelong learning. The ideal candidate will partner closely with families and collaborate with a warm, supportive staff deeply committed to Christ-centered, high-quality education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute engaging daily instruction using Standards-Based Learning (SBL)
  • Assess student progress and provide accurate, timely reporting
  • Maintain weekly communication with parents regarding classroom learning and student progress
  • Collaborate regularly with the teaching team and school administration
  • Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom culture
  • Maintain a clean, safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment
  • Support the spiritual, emotional, social, and academic growth of students
  • Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities as assigned

Required Experience

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Passion for Christian education and nurturing children in faith and learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Education and Certification Requirements

  • NAD Teaching Certificate required or obtainable
  • Washington State Teaching Certificate required or obtainable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Frequent walking throughout campus and classroom areas
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and sit on the floor with students
  • Ability to safely supervise students indoors and outdoors

Church Employment Statement

Employees must have a love for Jesus and a desire to share Him with others. Employees must demonstrate a personal devotional life, a desire to follow Jesus, and a willingness to serve Him in all areas of work. Employees must be members in good standing with regular attendance at a local Seventh-day Adventist church.
