Forest Lake Academy (FLA) is one of the largest Adventist high schools in the North American Division and is located in Apopka, Florida, just eight miles north of Orlando. The school offers grades 9-12 to approximately 400 students and is on the same property as Forest Lake Education Center, a pre-k-8th grade school with about 670 students. All of the main attractions in Orlando (Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, etc.), the various beaches, as well as numerous AdventHealth Hospitals and the Adventist Health System headquarters, are only a short distance away from FLA. By this fall, the school will have just completed an extensive expansion project that is creating renewed energy and excitement on campus with the new facilities.

FLA is seeking a full-time passionate, innovative, and student-centered Life Skills/Personal Finance Literacy teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. In the State of Florida these courses fall under the category of Social Studies, and this teacher will be a member of the History/Social Studies Department. This teacher will equip students with practical knowledge and essential life competencies needed for success in adulthood, college, career, and responsible citizenship, and will inspire students to develop financial responsibility, decision-making skills, personal accountability, leadership, communication, and independent living skills within a Christ-centered educational environment.

Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification with Junior Academy Endorsements in math and science is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). Three years of successful classroom experience is preferred.
