Orcas Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered educator to join our team as a Middle Grades Teacher. This position provides an exciting opportunity to teach and mentor students in a supportive Seventh-day Adventist school community while living in one of the most beautiful locations in the Pacific Northwest.

Required Experience

Qualifications

  • Active member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education required.
  • Adventist teaching certification preferred.
  • Washington State teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification preferred.
  • Previous middle grades teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Ability to teach multiple subject areas common to middle school programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate faith and learning throughout the curriculum.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and philosophy of Adventist education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, standards-based instruction for middle grades students.
  • Create and maintain a Christ-centered classroom environment.
  • Foster academic excellence and spiritual growth.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and the school board.
  • Participate actively in the ministry and life of the school.
  • Encourage students to develop leadership skills, critical thinking, and a heart for service.
