Description

The Associate Superintendent of Education / Early Childhood & Grades K-2 provides leadership, supervision, and support for early childhood education centers and schools serving children from birth through grade 2 throughout the Florida Conference. This position is responsible for promoting excellence in instruction, curriculum implementation, program quality, teacher development, and operational compliance while advancing the mission and philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist education. The Associate Superintendent serves as a resource to early childhood education centers and schools by providing guidance to administrators, teachers, and boards on educational best practices, program development, legislative requirements, and instructional leadership. This individual collaborates with educational leaders to strengthen programs, support student achievement, and ensure alignment with the educational standards and objectives of the Florida Conference Office of Education. The Superintendent also represents the Florida Conference Office of Education at conference, union, and other educational meetings as assigned. Applicants for this position must model Christ-centered leadership and professional behavior that positively influences others and supports the mission of Seventh-day Adventist education.

 

Required Experience
  • Knowledge and Skills Required
    • Thorough knowledge of early childhood and primary-grade curriculum, child development, instructional practices, and assessment strategies.
    • Familiarity with a variety of early childhood educational philosophies, curriculum models, and pedagogical approaches.
    • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, administrators, board members, parents, and community stakeholders.
    • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in current educational technology, software applications, and instructional tools.
    • Self-directed, detail-oriented, service-minded, and highly motivated.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Education and Experience Required
    • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
    • Valid teaching credentials required.
    • Minimum of seven (7) years of successful experience in early childhood education and educational administration.
    • Experience teaching and/or supervising programs serving children from early childhood (birth) through Grade 2.
    • Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, teacher supervision, coaching, and program development.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide documentation upon employment.
