Description

Blue Mountain Academy seeks a qualified and Christ-centered Mathematics Teacher who is committed to academic excellence and the spiritual development of students. The successful candidate will be an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission, values, and philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist education.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to engage, mentor, and inspire high school students within a boarding academy environment. Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff. The successful applicant will foster a positive learning environment that supports both academic achievement and Christian character development.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field required, with preference given to candidates holding a degree in Mathematics. Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in the United States  
  • Ability to teach high school Mathematics; candidates with additional teaching experience in History and/or Religion are strongly preferred.
  • Design and deliver engaging, student-centered mathematics instruction that demonstrates practical, real-world applications.
  • Incorporate interdisciplinary connections between mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and related fields to enhance student learning.
  • Employ innovative instructional methods and a variety of teaching strategies to support student engagement and academic growth.
  • Intentionally integrate faith and learning, fostering a Christ-centered classroom environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and serve as a positive Christian role model both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to promote student achievement, well-being, and spiritual development.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Support and consistently uphold school policies, standards, and expectations.
  • Serve as a class sponsor and actively contribute to student activities, events, and campus life.
  • Fulfill additional supervisory, extracurricular, and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
