Position Overview

Spring Valley Academy is seeking a committed Seventh-day Adventist educator to join our faculty as a Bible Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This individual will play a vital role in helping students deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ while integrating faith into daily life and learning.

The successful candidate will teach Bible courses at the middle and high school levels and facilitate a self-paced typing course for seventh-grade students. Beyond classroom instruction, the Bible teacher will serve as a spiritual mentor, helping students develop a biblical worldview and encouraging them to grow in faith, character, and service.

Teaching Responsibilities

The teaching load consists of six class sections:

  • Two sections of 7th Grade Bible
  • One section of 9th Grade Bible
  • Two sections of 11th Grade Bible
  • One section of 7th Grade Self-Paced Typing

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, Christ-centered Bible instruction aligned with the mission and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages spiritual growth, critical thinking, biblical literacy, and discipleship.
  • Build positive relationships with students and serve as a spiritual mentor and role model.
  • Maintain lesson plans, grades, attendance records, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in school worships, Weeks of Prayer, service projects, and other spiritual programming.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the overall mission of Spring Valley Academy.
  • Facilitate and monitor student progress in the self-paced typing course.
  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required.
  • Support the school's philosophy of educating the whole child—academically, spiritually, socially, and physically.
Required Experience
  • Active member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Commitment to Adventist education and the mission of Spring Valley Academy.
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Theology, Religion, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to connect with middle and high school students and foster meaningful spiritual conversations.
  • Demonstrated Christian character and commitment to servant leadership.
