Description

The Director of Leadership Giving leads relationship-based fundraising efforts to secure major philanthropic investments in support of institutional priorities. This role manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and integrates planned giving strategies to maximize current and future support.

As a key member of the Advancement team, the Director partners with institutional leadership and volunteers to cultivate meaningful donor relationships, align philanthropic interests with institutional priorities, and secure transformational gifts.

Required Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, with preference given to a graduate of Union Adventist University
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of major gift fundraising experience or knowledge of, or demonstrated capacity and willingness to learn, best practices in leadership giving, donor participation, and philanthropic engagement
  • Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts
  • Familiarity with planned giving strategies and donor engagement approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with high-capacity donors, volunteers, and institutional leaders
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, initiative, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential donor information with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge NXT or similar donor CRM preferred
  • Willingness to travel and participate in evening or weekend events as needed

  • An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church; a Seventh-day Adventist church member in good and regular standing.
  • Must be currently authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
