Description

The Carolina Conference Office of Education is seeking a Superintendent of Education who is passionate about Christian education and committed to advancing the mission of Seventh-day Adventist schools across the Conference. This leadership role provides spiritual, administrative, and strategic oversight for early childhood, elementary, junior academy, and academy education while supporting school leaders, teachers, and local school boards in fostering academic excellence and spiritual growth.

The Superintendent of Education provides leadership for the Office of Education by supervising departmental staff, recruiting and supporting educational personnel, overseeing school and teacher evaluations, managing the departmental budget, and coordinating professional development opportunities, including teachers' conventions and in-service training. This position works closely with conference leadership, school administrators, and denominational organizations to ensure compliance with educational policies, accreditation standards, certification requirements, curriculum development, and state and federal regulations. The Superintendent also represents the Conference at school events, board meetings, and educational committees while promoting the vision and growth of Adventist education throughout the Carolina Conference.

 

Required Experience

Master's degree in education or a related field (or equivalent leadership experience), successful administrative and teaching experience across multiple grade levels, strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Seventh-day Adventist Christian education. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, service-oriented leader who can build strong relationships, think strategically, and effectively manage multiple priorities while providing spiritual encouragement to educators and school communities.
