Hawaiian Mission Academy (HMA) - seeks an innovative, enthusiastic, and talented Science teacher to join the HMA team of dedicated educators. The Science teacher will be joining a dedicated staff that wants to see our students succeed academically, spiritually, physically, and socially. As the Science teacher, your students will want to be engaged and learn about biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic medical assisting concepts and nutrition. Students will have a creative and positive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
Hawaiian Mission Academy (HMA) is one of the best-kept secrets in the Pacific Ocean, nestled in an urban setting in Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, in the state of Hawaii. Our campus is full of Hawaiian History including the Summer Palace Estate for Princess Abigail. Hawaii is well known for its Aloha Spirit and world-renowned beaches. The area offers excellent shopping, history, arts, and entertainment, hiking with picturesque ocean views, surfing legendary world-renowned beaches, peaceful nature escapes and tropical weather year-around. Candidates will be committed to the mission of Christian Adventist Education, and want to teach in Hawaii while guiding high school students into a lifetime of learning. Applicants must be baptized members of the Seventh-day Adventist church and eligible to work in the United States in order to be considered. (Hold current work visa and residency in the US if not a US citizen).
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 1) hold or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification. Basic, Standard, or Professional, with a secondary subject area endorsement in Science; 2) exhibit a willingness to support the implementation of Standards-based Learning (SBL), Differentiated Instruction, and Project-based Learning in the classroom; 3) a can-do attitude and solid work ethic; 4) a positive, uplifting, and cooperative spirit; 5) shows passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus; 6) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication. Candidates with a Master's degree or previous teaching experience will be prepared.
The salary range for this position is based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustments. Approx. salary is $71, 478.95/ per year.
