Atholton Adventist Academy is seeking a full-time teacher to join our team of committed, life-long learners, whose mission is to build genuine relationships and share the love of Jesus with the Atholton Adventist church school families.

Description: Atholton Adventist Academy (AAA), located in Columbia, Maryland, serves a culturally diverse community of over 200 students and 25 faculty and staff, majority holding advanced degrees and secondary certification. AAA provides a distinctively person-oriented educational environment dedicated to excellence and growth for pre-K through 10th grades, including international ESL students. AAA is moving to full academy status, partnering with Griggs APLE program to provide 11th grade this year and 11th and 12th for the 2023-2024 school year. Our location is accessible from Baltimore and Washington, D.C. surrounds with major Adventist institutions like the General Conference, North America Division, Columbia Union, Chesapeake Conference, Washington Adventist University, Adventist HealthCare White Oak and Shady Grove. AAA works closely with the Atholton Adventist Church in providing well-rounded academic and spiritual learning opportunities which lead to an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile full-time teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate should hold certifications in at least two of the following areas: history, English, math, and science. This position will involve teaching students at the middle and high school levels, requiring adaptability and expertise across multiple subjects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans for middle and high school students
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the academic experience for all students
• Participate in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills

Qualifications:

• Committed spiritual leader who models Adventist principles and is involved in the church and school collaborative functions
• Certification in at least two of the following areas: history, English, math, science
• Experience teaching middle and/or high school students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-grade level environment
