Description

We are looking for a creative, hard-working, team-oriented individual to fill an opening for a full-time Grades 6-8 teacher who is passionate about teaching math and science in a departmentalized middle school program.  This person will serve as the homeroom teacher for 7th grade and we anticipate teaching responsibilities will include Grades 7 & 8 Math and Grades 6-8 Science as well as an elective class for Grades 6-8. Ability to teach a second language is a plus. Ideal candidates should have excellent classroom management skills, the ability to integrate lessons across the curriculum to make learning a fun, hands-on experience, and the ability to integrate technology across the curriculum. Student supervision, sponsorships and additional tasks may also be assigned by the principal. Different teaching responsibilities may be expected as enrollment changes.

Hood View Adventist School (HVAS) is a Preschool-8th grade school currently serving more than 200 students with a full-time principal, 11 full-time teacher, support staff, and outstanding support from constituent churches. The school is located on 20 beautiful acres with a view of Mt. Required Experience

A qualified applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Experience teaching at the middle school level is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong relationship with Jesus and have a passion for Adventist education. They should have an understanding and ability to work with middle school age students and be able to create a student-centered classroom, as well as the ability to select age-appropriate instructional strategies, use sound teaching methods, have good communication with students, parents, and colleagues, consistent planning and follow-through, and a positive team spirit. 

The individual should hold current NAD certification and must have the legal right to work and reside in the United States and provide evidence of that right if employed.
