Learning Tree Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic NAD certified teacher, committed to the mission of Adventist Education, to join a fun and seasoned staff and to teach Forest School for Pre-K-K. Learning Tree provides quality Christian education for 4-year olds through 8th graders and is a 6-teacher school. Enrollment has grown exponentially over the last few years and is now topped out with around 85 students. This job opening is a result of our much-loved “child whisperer” Forest Lady for 18 years relocating to a school that is closer to her family. Learning Tree is located at the halfway point between Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN, (along with Collegedale Academy) and Georgia Cumberland Academy in Calhoun, GA. This location is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy mountains, national forests, and other recreational opportunities. Learning Tree has an attractive facility with decent-sized classrooms, a gym, plenty of technology resources, a library, a fenced playground, a field, a treehouse, access to a pristine creek, a beautiful forest space with several outdoor classroom spaces, and raised beds for food and flower gardens. It is connected to the Dalton Seventh-day Adventist Church. Required Experience

The ideal candidate will be a person who young children enjoy! They will have a caring, spiritual emphasis with students, along with good communication and follow-through skills, excellent teaching skills, motivation to be actively involved in the church-school community, and a strong desire for utilizing God’s book of nature in creative lesson design. Other desired skills: organized, supportive team player, ability to direct assistants who help with the 18 Pre-K-K students. Other supportive skills if possible: bilingual language skills in Spanish.

Minimum: B.S. degree and current NAD Elementary certification. Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale and policy. Georgia-Cumberland Conference offers all full-time teachers the option of 10 or 12-month remuneration. Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be able to provide evidence of that right if employed.
