The Dispatch Officer operates the Campus Safety dispatch desk during scheduled hours. They answer and maintain a log of all incoming and outgoing radio traffic among officers and handle walk-in traffic with various needs. This position is responsible for answering and responding to all incoming calls to the Campus Safety Department promptly and professionally, giving instructions to callers, and sending a Patrol Officer to handle issues when appropriate or transferring calls as needed. Be 18 years of age or older. Minimum of two years of administrative or office support experience. Ability to handle difficult interpersonal situations in an acceptable manner. Ability to respond to, address, and process multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, including high-stress and potentially urgent matters. Leadership skills and experience required. Good communication and customer service skills are a must. Multi-tasking skills required.
