Forest Lake Academy (FLA) is one of the largest Adventist high schools in the North American Division and is located in Apopka, Florida, just eight miles north of Orlando. The school offers grades 9-12 to nearly 450 students and is on the same property as Forest Lake Education Center, a pre-k-8th grade school with nearly 700 students. Numerous AdventHealth Hospitals and the Adventist Health System headquarters as well as all of the attractions in Orlando, including the Disney and Universal theme parks and the beach, are only a short distance away from FLA. FLA is seeking a full-time innovative eleventh-grade English teacher for the 2024-2025 school year to help guide students to strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills while developing a personal relationship with Jesus. The ideal candidate will be passionate about young people and willing to work with the school administration and a core English team to create opportunities for the students to learn and develop their critical thinking skills. Primary responsibilities include teaching American Literature, Speech, and Yearbook but will also have other teacher responsibilities, such as supervision and sponsorships, as determined by administration and the team. In addition, the teacher must be a team player and be willing and able to work with the other high school teachers in managing a holistic program for high schoolers.
