Description

Campion Academy, in Loveland, Colorado, is seeking a candidate dedicated to serve as Vice Principal of Finance on a boarding school campus.

Specific Financial Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a financial advisor to the Principal, Finance Committee, and School Board.
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, sales tax, and related activities.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the Business Office, Bookstore, Mailroom, etc.
  • Develop appropriate tracking methods for revenue and expenses.
  • Oversee development, oversight, and management of the organization’s investments.
  • Manage insurance coverages (property, liability, vehicle, etc.) for the organization.
  • Ensure the organization complies with tax laws and regulations specific to the organization.
  • Regular accurate financial reporting (such as monthly and annual financial statements, forecasts, planning, budgeting, cash management, etc.) Financial statements must be provided to the School Board at least four times per year.
  • Prepare documentation as required for the annual financial audit, and work with auditors to ensure a complete and accurate audit.
  • Work with parents on establishing financial plans, payment plans, and making sure that families follow through on their payments.
  • Develop and oversee student financial aid applications and work with scholarship team on approving financial aid awards.
  • Work with Alumni director in choosing annual alumni scholarship awards.
  • Prepare and oversee the organization’s annual operating budget, including recommending the annual tuition and fees to the School Board.
  • Provide annual departmental budgets to departments and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, teachers, and administrators in the overall operations of the organization.
  • Ensure successful completion of the organizations tax and regulatory filings (payroll related, sales tax, Colorado FAMLI+, etc.)
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, payroll regulations, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute required payroll related documents (W-2’s, 1099’s, etc.)
  • Maintain and store required documentation of financial and payroll records.
  • Supervise the handling of and be responsible for all cash and negotiable instruments of the organization.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with financial institutions, businesses, and local authorities.
  • Sign checks and other routine documents.
  • Oversee the receipt, safekeeping, and proper disbursal of organization’s funds.
  • Oversee the purchase of all equipment and supplies.
Required Experience

Master's degree in Business Administration with previous experience preferred; commitment to Adventist education; understanding of how to integrate faith-based principles into financial decision-making and management practices; proficiency in budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis; experience in managing financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and procurement; ability to develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accountability; proficiency in using financial management software and tools for budgeting, accounting and reporting; ability to leverage technology to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency; willingness to engage in professional development and stay updated on best practices in financial management and education administration; dedication to fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department and the school as a whole. 

Salary and benefits are based on the denomination’s wage scale policy. Individuals must have the legal right to live and work in the United States and provide evidence of that right if employed.

Position: VP for Finance

Immediate Supervisor: Principal

 Classification: Exempt (Professional) 

Mid-America Union Remuneration Scale: 78% to 102% Base Salary Scale: $4,309.00 to $5,634.00 per month 

The starting base salary is determined after verifying denominational credentials issued by the Mid-America Union of Seventh-day Adventists and the relevant years of experience.
