Mountain View Academy (MVA) seeks a full-time high school music director for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. In addition to endorsements in Music, there is a need to be able to teach other subjects (such as math, science, or English). Our music offerings have traditionally been choir, select choir, and band. We want to reinvigorate our music program by expanding some of these offerings. MVA music facilities include a large band room with practice and choir rooms. Multiple pianos are available, including a grand piano on our chapel stage. Music has long been a significant part of the MVA legacy and a missing piece of our core curriculum. We seek a candidate who is passionate about growing our music program and has the patience to teach Music to students at varying levels. Mountain View Academy is in the heart of Silicon Valley, celebrating its 100th year as an Adventist high school. Mountain View Academy is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. We are near major technology companies, recreational areas, and cultural attractions. The school is supported by 20 constituent churches representing the diverse cultures throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Peninsula. The area also has multiple elementary feeder schools nearby, all welcoming performance and outreach opportunities.

Required Experience

Candidates will be committed to the mission of Adventist Education, relish the opportunity to work in the culturally diverse California Bay Area and enjoy working with high school students and their parents in a goal and mission-oriented academic setting. Applicants must be active Seventh-day Adventist church members eligible to work in the United States. (Hold current work visa and residency in the US if not a US citizen.) The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional, with Secondary Endorsements in Music and additional areas; 2) a team player; 3) maintains a spiritual presence and commitment; 4) has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ; 5) knowledgeable in music curriculum; 6) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication; 7) being bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus. 

The salary range for this position is $66,559-$82,303 based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustment.
