Chowchilla Adventist School (CAS) seeks a creative and knowledgeable teacher for a combination grade 4-8 classroom.  CAS is a K-8 two-teacher school with a stable enrollment of about 20 students.  Located in the middle of the rich agricultural region of California’s Central Valley, we are thirty-five miles from the entrance to Yosemite, with the Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and the coastal beach areas from 2 to 2.5 hours away.    The school is located amid Almond and Pistachio groves, about 5 miles southwest of Chowchilla.  Support for the school comes from a single constituent church situated next to the school.  This teacher may also need to serve as the principal, depending on qualifications and skills.

Candidates will be committed to the mission of Adventist Education, relish the opportunity to teach in a country setting in the Central Valley agricultural region of California, and thoroughly enjoy guiding young students into a lifetime of learning.  Applicants must be active Seventh-day Adventist church members and eligible to work in the United States.  (Hold current work visa and residency in the US if not a US citizen.) 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:  1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional, with an Elementary Education endorsement;  2) a team player;  3) maintains a spiritual presence and commitment;  4) has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ;  5) knowledgeable in elementary curriculum;  6) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication;  7) being bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus.

The salary range for this position is $52,515 to $68,259 based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustment.
