Antelope Valley Adventist School lovingly invites you to apply for the dynamic role of Teaching Principal, with the flexibility of teaching our middle elementary (3–5) or upper elementary (6–8) grades. We are seeking a Christ-centered, visionary professional to lead our small, but vibrant K–8 school. As the teaching-principal, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school's operations, while also teaching in a multigrade classroom.

Our school has been a beacon of light in the Antelope Valley since 1949, preparing students for a life of purpose and service by teaching critical thinking and nurturing a genuine love for Christ and others. 

The ideal candidate will commit to upholding our mission and vision and leading our dedicated team in WASC Accreditation, Standards Based Learning, and the NAD’s Journey to Excellence pathway.

 

Required Experience

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience, with a proven track record of student achievement

- Valid teaching credential and administrative credential (or eligibility to obtain)

- Master's degree in education, or a related field, is preferred

- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Commitment to the Seventh-day Adventist faith and the mission of Adventist education

- Foster a positive, Christ-centered school culture that supports the spiritual and academic growth of students

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and stakeholders

- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies, especially in alignment with WASC recommendations and requirements 

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Adventist education standards

-Must be able to work legally in the United States.

 

Other desired abilities and experience:

- Bilingual

- Interest in running our school-wide Garden program

- Interest and ability in running a Band program

- Interest and ability in running competitive sports for upper grades
